Tzu Chi cleans, declutters family’s home.

PHILIPSBURG:— Tzu Chi Foundation St. Maarten volunteers recently thoroughly cleaned and decluttered the home of a family, whose case was referred to the foundation by a social worker of the Sister Basilia Center.

One of the family members in question is a client of the Sister Basilia Center. The social worker felt that having a clean and safe environment will contribute to the well-being of the family.

Tzu Chi volunteers were happy to assist in the cleaning and organizing of the family’s home just in time for the Christmas holiday season. A total of 12 grateful volunteers participated in the exercise – the youngest was age 10 and the eldest was over 70 years old.

One of the volunteers said the experience was a rewarding one for her. “It has been very fruitful and it is nice because we get to meet new families and get to help them out and we had a good time,” the volunteer said.
The social worker, who referred the case to Tzu Chi thanked the foundation for promptly responding to the call to assist. She said the work of the foundation and its volunteers is appreciated.

One of the family members thanked Tzu Chi volunteers for assisting them and said she is now much more comfortable in her home. She promised to keep the home decluttered and clean.

Tzu Chi Commissioner Sandra Cheung said the spirit of love has no boundaries. She said only love can bring strangers together as one big family and only love can make the impossible to possible.
She thanked all volunteers for taking their time out to assist in this benevolent gesture in time for the holidays and is grateful for the social worker for bringing the matter to the attention of the foundation and thanked the family for allowing the volunteers to assist them.
