Geneva:— In a significant step towards advancing inclusive growth and sustainable development, the Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) presented the preliminary results of its comprehensive questionnaire to the International Labour Organization (ILO). The report was officially handed over to the ILO Deputy Director General Ms. Celeste Drake by representatives of the AICESIS Presiding Council (the SER of Curaçao) and the Secretary General of AICESIS during a formal bilateral meeting on June 12, 2024.
The report, prepared by the SER of Curaçao, provides an in-depth analysis of AICESIS members' alignment with broad and inclusive growth objectives, performance indicators, and their integration with global and regional frameworks. It examines regional implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes, reporting, accountability mechanisms, and collaborative exchanges among member institutions. The ILO Deputy Director expressed appreciation for the diligent efforts of AICESIS and its member institutions. “This preliminary report is a testament to the commitment of AICESIS towards inclusive and sustainable development. The insights gathered will significantly contribute to our shared goal of fostering equitable growth and enhancing social dialogue globally.”
The handover of the report marks the beginning of an in-depth review process by the ILO, and the final report, expected later this year, will provide a comprehensive analysis and actionable recommendations to further align AICESIS members with global sustainability and inclusivity goals.
