48 vehicles controlled and 23 fined in traffic controls | THE DAILY HERALD

PHILIPSBURG–Forty-eight vehicles were controlled and twenty-three drivers fined during two separate traffic controls at two different locations conducted by police officers in training under the guidance of their instructor on January 24.

  One vehicle was also towed for unpaid motor vehicle tax for the year 2018 during the exercise.

  Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said the controls were part of an exercise conducted by police officers in training executing tasks assigned to them by their instructor regarding organising and executing traffic controls.

  The control focused on drivers without fastened seatbelts and with illegally tinted windows.

  The first control occurred on A.J.C. Brouwer Road in the vicinity of the lookout point at “Harold Jack’s Place” between 9:00 and 11:00am, and the second on Gladiola Road in the vicinity of John Cooper/Jose Lake Senior Ball Park between 2:00 and 3:00pm.
