MAHO--Police are investigating an armed robbery at Casino Royale in Maho around midday on Tuesday.
The Police Force of St. Maarten (KPSM) Central Dispatch received several calls reporting that an armed robbery was taking place at about 12:00pm on September 1. Several police patrols and detectives were dispatched to the casino to investigate.
According to preliminary information, two suspects wearing dark clothing arrived at the establishment in a small grey vehicle. The suspects reportedly entered the casino and held personnel at gunpoint before robbing the establishment.
Following the robbery, the suspects fled in the same vehicle in the direction of the French side of the island. KPSM said the investigation is ongoing and is asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist detectives to come forward.
