Former police officer/ NAPB union secretary reacts to Letter to Minister of Justice | 721 NEWS

Hello Mr. Wilson.

Philbert Llewellyn, ex-police inspector, and former NAPB union secretary.

You know me very well. My name is Philbert Llewellyn, an ex-police inspector, and former NAPB union secretary.

I hope everything is ok over there. For almost 10 months I’m not on FB, so to know about certain posts it’s when people send me them in an app. The reason for me contacting you is because of an ”ingezonden” letter to the SXM Minister of Justice you posted.

I want to react because it was really an “under the belt punch,” the way the “whistleblower” attacked the police force and especially Mr. John, Chief Commissioner of Police.

It’s really unfair to throw out allegations knowing that due to ”beroeps ethiek,” Mr. John cannot react in public to defend himself. I know Mr. John for 34 years now, and one thing I can guarantee you, the Minister of Justice and the people of SXM is that Mr. John is and till this moment I’m writing this, an honorable person. A man of integrity. He was never a guy of corruption, hiding wrong doings, “voortrekkerij,” or a guy who based the way he deals with others on “payback.”

As a former NAPB congress member, Mr. John, once he feels that an unjust has happened to a member of the force, he tends to get mad at the NAPB “dagelijks bestuur” because the union wasn’t reacting, or reacted too slow. His actions always were with the best interest of the “personeel” from back then KPSSS in mind.

So it’s hard for me to believe that now he is managing like a dictator and threatening his “personeel”. Another thing in the letter is about the VSBO. We are far over 50, so we didn’t go to VSBO. Back then we had the MAVO, and thereafter you go to the HAVO, which Mr. John did. Mr. John, besides participating with success from politie diploma 1-2-3 and the LMO, is an MBA graduate with a lot of managerial certificates and diplomas of courses he did during his 34 years of service.

If he went to a selection procedure and came out the best, we need to respect the man for his knowledge, and not compare him with others who lost more than one selection procedure during the years, and lately one as korpschef BES against another candidate that didn’t study at the police academy in Appeldoorn.

The media has a task to inform and educate their readers, and not be partisan to conspiracy and allegations based on no evidence at all.

To the Minister of Justice, I want to congratulate you with your “aanstelling” as SXM Minister of Justice, and absolutely not intending to “lees je de les voor” because of your young age.

You are there because your party found you capable to do the job. It’s a tough one where common sense and trust needs to be a big part of how you deal and react with, and to others.

I’m a true police lover. Blue blood runs through my veins, and I have served my colleagues as a union member for almost 10 years. From experience I’m telling you, you have to be careful with those with a hidden agenda, and the desire to quench their thirst for revenge.

Don’t fall into their trap of creating a common enemy/character assassination to start a revenge against the person they think had jeopardized them, or didn’t give them what they wanted.

Lately it’s very common that people confuse their desires with what they really deserve. (In papiamentu: konfundi deseo ku derechi).

Minister of Justice, believe me that those who wrote for you to take a look at what happened with korpschef in Aruba and Curaçao, don’t want you to succeed. I cannot tell you that much about Aruba, but till the day of today, the police force of Curaçao is bleeding because of Minister of Justice Navarro’s decision to remove KPC korpschef Wernet, based on lies and gossip orchestrated by those who didn’t get “hun zin”.

Sincerely,

Philbert Llewellyn (A blue blood 4life)
