PHILIPSBURG: --- A late afternoon shooting took place in Middle Region on Monday afternoon, Initial reports are three persons are involved in the shooting. SMN News learned that at least one person died on the spot, while a second person died at the St. Maarten Medical Center from the gunshot wounds. Two other victims remains at the ST. Maarten Medical Center.

Acting Police Spokesman E. Josepha said that details of the shooting are very sketchy. He dismissed the information that is circulating that states the late afternoon shooting was a drive-by shooting. Josepha said a vehicle drove up to the
