PHILIPSBURG:--- The Ambassador for the European Union, Mr. Ponz Canto visited Sint Maarten in relation to the 11th Caribbean Conference on Comprehensive Disaster Management. The recent appointed Ambassador, situated in Guyana for Suriname has the responsibility for Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, St. Barthelemy, St. Eustatius and St. Maarten. During his first official visit, he took the opportunity to also meet with government officials from the Ministry of General Affairs, in particular, the Department of Interior and Kingdom Relations (BAK), to discuss ongoing EU projects and future funding possibilities. With regard to ongoing EU programs and projects, a close relationship
