PHILIPSBURG:--- All Junior and Grand Parade Troupe Leaders and others involved in Carnival parades are invited to a very important meeting on Tuesday, March 6 at the office of the St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF). The office is located above the WIB branch on the Illidge Road and the meeting time is 7:00pm.
The foundation is ready to relay information to the troupe leaders to ensure that all are on the same page for Carnival 2017. Likewise, the foundation has to hear from and register all troupes that intend to participate in the parades.
Additionally, there are some companies and persons who want to participate in the parade as individuals, they too are invited to this meeting. “This meeting is not just to relay our rules and regulations, but also those of the Police department and other officials,” the SCDF said.
“Something happens on the road during parades every year which makes these meetings absolutely necessary. Everyone associated with the parades is invited to this meeting. Let’s make sure we are all on the same page and have a wonderful parade,” the SCDF added.
