Man shot at snack bar.

PHILIPSBURG:— On Sunday, December 23rd at approximately 11.00 p.m. the Emergency Dispatch received several calls of shots being fired in the vicinity El Mango Snack bar and Cake House Supermarket located on the L.B. Scot road and that one person was injured. Immediately several patrols, Detectives, Forensic investigators, and paramedics were directed to the location to investigate what took place.
Arriving at the scene the scene the investigating officers did not locate the victim however encountered numerous spent shells on the street. The area was immediately cordoned off for the Forensic Department to collect evidence and Detectives to speak to potential witnesses.
According to the report, the victim identified with initials E.E.S. (26) drove himself to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for medical treatment. At the hospital, the victim who had been treated for a gunshot wound to his left thigh stated to the investigating officers that he does not know who shot him or why because he has no problems with anyone.
Detectives continue to investigate to be able to piece together what exactly took place and who is responsible for this shooting. More details in connection with this investigation are not available at this time.
