The Public Prosecutor’s Office has decided to appeal the acquittal of former Member of Parliament Theodore Heyliger, in connection to the claim of vote-buying. The Public Prosecutor’s Office would like to hear the assessment of the Court of Appeal concerning the meaning of “a promise” in the criminal law.

Het Openbaar Ministerie heeft besloten in beroep te gaan tegen de vrijspraak van het voormalige parlementslid Theodore Heyliger in verband met de claim van ‘vote buying’. Het Openbaar Ministerie wil de beoordeling van het Hof horen over de betekenis van “een belofte” in de wettekst.
