SXM’s largest volunteer campaign seeks to secure more partnerships with local entities.
PHILIPSBURG, January 30, 2019 – Businesses looking to recognize their “corporate social responsibility” or CSR, to the community are being called upon to partner with SXM DOET, St. Maarten’s largest community service event. March 15th and 16th will mark SXM DOET’s 5th anniversary, celebrating 5 energetic years of giving back through community service projects thanks to the dedication of the Oranje Fonds, SXM volunteers, NGOs, and community-minded businesses.
Over the years, SXM DOET has made many friends in the business community, including Heavenly Water, Kooyman, Domino’s Pizza, Cake House Bakery & Supermarket, UTS, Greenfingers, Tackling Gas Station, CC1/Prime Distributors, Firgos and Easy Print, all of whom have supported the initiative by providing the team and organizations that participate in the annual volunteer event with special deals and in-kind donations.
The Project Management Team, consisting of Fleur Hermanides, Laura Bijnsdorp, and Melanie Choisy, is excited to have a few new partnerships on board, but are still seeking more businesses willing to either donate or offer special discounts to the non-profit organizations taking part in the event. The business partnerships forged with SXM DOET directly contribute to the success of the community service projects that volunteers will tend to on March 15 & 16.
Specifically, the team is looking for businesses that can offer assistance to the projects through discounts and in-kind donations of food, on-the-go snacks, beverages, the use of heavy machinery, tools and equipment, small contracting-related services or reduced entry fees to local attractions.
Last year SXM DOET saw approximately 2000 volunteers successfully execute 108 projects in just one weekend. Kindly consider joining the celebration of 5 years of selflessness and positive impacts of our island’s local non-profit organizations.
