GUYANA--Motorworld Group has expanded its regional automotive operations with the official introduction of GAC vehicles in Guyana, bringing the Chinese automotive brand's presence to 23 Caribbean markets over the past two years. The launch, undertaken in partnership with authorized dealer HSM Motors, introduces Guyanese consumers to a range of GAC vehicles, including models from its AION electric vehicle lineup.
The expansion forms part of Motorworld's strategy to strengthen GAC's distribution network throughout the Caribbean, supported by local dealerships, technical services and regional parts infrastructure.
Motorworld, which serves as GAC's regional distributor, said the Guyana launch represents another step in making the manufacturer's vehicles available to a wider Caribbean customer base.
GAC has established itself in the international automotive industry through decades of manufacturing and engineering experience, including joint ventures with established manufacturers such as Honda, Toyota and Hino.
The company has also invested in research and development, particularly in automotive technology, vehicle safety and electric mobility.
With the introduction of GAC and AION models in Guyana, Motorworld and HSM Motors intend to offer consumers additional choices in both conventional and electric vehicles.
The companies are also emphasizing aftersales support as part of their strategy to establish the brand in the Guyanese market.
According to Motorworld, GAC vehicles sold in Guyana will be supported by an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer vehicle warranty, while GAC electric vehicles will receive battery warranty coverage of 200,000 kilometers.
Tariq Amjad, Executive Chairman of Motorworld, said Guyana represents an important market in the company's regional expansion plans.
“Guyana represents an important market in GAC’s continued Caribbean growth,” Amjad stated. “GAC combines advanced technology and design with a strong commitment to quality and reliability. Together with HSM Motors, we are proud to give Guyanese consumers access not only to these vehicles, but also to the regional parts, technical and aftersales infrastructure needed to support them for years to come.”
The partnership with HSM Motors provides GAC with an established local dealership responsible for vehicle sales, customer service, maintenance and technical support.
HSM Motors CEO Mikhail Hosein said the company selected GAC based on its manufacturing background, engineering capabilities and product reliability.
“Bringing a new brand to Guyana requires more than great vehicles; it requires strong infrastructure and a product consumers can trust. GAC stood out for its reputation for quality, engineering and reliability,” Hosein stated.
He emphasized that the dealership intends to provide customers with trained technicians, parts availability and warranty support to ensure that the vehicles are backed by the necessary services after purchase.
“At HSM Motors, we’re backing the GAC lineup with trained technicians, strong parts support and comprehensive warranties, giving Guyanese drivers world-class vehicles supported by the trusted HSM name,” he added.
The launch also expands the availability of electric vehicles in Guyana through GAC's AION brand, which focuses on battery-powered transportation.
The introduction comes as automotive distributors throughout the Caribbean continue to explore opportunities to diversify vehicle offerings and respond to growing interest in new automotive technologies.
For Motorworld, the expansion reflects its continued investment in regional distribution partnerships and the development of support networks capable of serving customers across multiple markets.
The company said its approach goes beyond vehicle sales, with emphasis placed on maintaining reliable technical assistance, replacement parts and customer service infrastructure.
With Guyana now included in GAC's Caribbean distribution network, Motorworld and HSM Motors will focus on establishing the brand locally and introducing additional consumers to the manufacturer's vehicle range.
Motorworld indicated that its regional expansion strategy will continue to prioritize product availability, dealership development and long-term customer support as GAC establishes a broader presence across the Caribbean.
